CSCM is pleased to announce the launch of a brand new professional development opportunity! Starting in June, CSCM will bring top quality professional development to the desktops of club managers across Canada. In order to improve the quality and frequency of professional development services for club managers across Canada, CSCM is launching a trial series of six professional development webinars. Members will now be able to access quality professional development designed specifically for people in club management from the comfort of their own offices via high speed internet. In addition to being very convenient, this means professional development will also be open to staff of member clubs.
The first webinar, developed for the introduction of Bill 168 in Ontario, will deal with the prevention of violence in the workplace. Although this will be of interest specifically for those in the Ontario Branches, the topic and procedures will be of interest to clubs across the country.
When Bill 168, takes effect June 15, management and staff will be held responsible for preventing violence in the workplace.
Penalties for ignoring the legislation are stiff
personal fines up to $25,000
corporate fines up to $500,000
